The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch

Set in a world based around the Italian Renaissance, complete with wizards and thieves guilds. I heard Jed Herne read part of this book on YouTube and it is less straight up gut busting funny (for reference, Robert Asprin’s Myth Inc level funny) it is not. But it is a wonderfully imaginative, darkly funny tale full of vivid characters, flawed protagonists and imaginative twists.
